Blowing hair in the front

I've just recently decided to grow my hair out long to match my beard. However, I have fine hair, which goes crazy in the wind. The back doesn't give me a problem, but the hair in the front goes every which way, and I find myself having to wear a hat or cap most of the time to solve the problem. Until the hair up front can grow longer to where I can put it in a ponytail or something, is there a temporary solution anyone can help me with? Thanks.

Simple solution: Gel, Wax, Fudge etc. Any kind of hair goop will do it for you.

: This is the 'awkward stage' problem all of us have to deal with when we grow our hair out. It's easy once it's long enough to tie back, but it's surprising how long it can take for the front to be long enough to reach the back.
When I was at this stage in the 1970s, with fine hair which sounds similar to yours, I made it a little better by brushing all my hair back so that 'the back' started further forward. That didn't stop the wind blowing some of my hair, but did make life a little easier, and after about 10 months it was long enough to tie back anyway.
Good luck!
