OH NO, Split Ends!!!

I've been growing my hair for two years but unfortunately for the first year I was talked into getting it trimmed often by my mom. It's going on a year now since the last time I've had a trim though and my hair has reached just past my chin in the back and it's down to my collar in the back. I've always looked for split ends but I've never found them till recently. I've not found many but I have found a few, mostly in the front. Everytime I find one I've gotten the scissors and cut off the end.
I've heard all kinds on things about split ends. Some say that your hair stops growing, some say that they spread and make you lose your hair, etc. I really don't believe that they make your hair stop growing but I know they aren't good. So what should I do now??? Should I get a trim. I really don't want one since my hair isn't turly long yet. I like to get all past my shoulders before I get another trim. What should I do?

Don't trim. Use lots of a good conditioner.

That won't help, unfortunately!
There is no such thing as repairing split ends. They don't go away unless you trim them off.
All the conditioner in the world will not magically gte rid of them.
Get the trim and be gentle with your hair.
Cure for split ends

Actually, once you begin "being gentle with your hair", splits will cease to grow and the split area of the hairs, weakened by the split, will just "trim" themselves off. At least in my case, I can say, "Been there, done that." My hair is now twice as long as it was when it was splitting, and as for splits, I can't find a one!
